So, my ongoing project to (re)teach myself how to cook like an American (or maybe just how to cook like a grownup, or something) proceeds apace. The latest adventure came off perfectly, and I now have a pair of gorgeous and tasty quiches - tomato, spinach, chicken sausage and smoked gouda, one with cilantro and one with out. Paired with a quick salad of lettuce from my dad's garden and red pepper w/ avacado ranch dressing, both from the farmers' market, and mine is a happy tummy. The only snag is I made two because I figured I'd bring the spare to the weekly dinner I do with some friends (which is why one has no cilantro, as one of my friends has the little gene of cilantro sadness) and then realized I'd double booked myself and couldn't actually go this week. Whoops. Somehow, I don't find "I have more tasty foods than I meant to" to be an actual problem...
