oh, the pretty...
Nov. 23rd, 2003 03:05 amSo much pretty, so much joy.
Got to spend today in a film induced haze of happy. The chinese food also helped.
Hal Hartley, Peter Jackson, Baz Luhrman = gods umong men.
Hmm... could change topics for my film course and do Luhrman's three movies, but I kind of want to work with Boondock Saints and Book of Life. Still not 100% sure where I want to go. Perhaps should talk to the prof, see what she thinks.
Extended TTT is sooooo the pretty. Filled with pretty. Prettier than god. Howard Shore also a god among men, as ar 85% of the actors in the movie. Makes me happy.
I think I should finish reading Lincoln before I talk to prof though. Need to work out if there's anything I can use from it. Actually, I almost certainly can use Lincoln to discuss Book of Life, but I don't really want to be stuck with Campbell, Eliade (who doesn't really relate anyway), and Weber for Boondock Saints. For one thing, arguing the protestant ethic in relation to the two most Catholic characters ever is going to be wierd. Not going to stop me doing it, but still.
So much pretty...
Thanks to
electrolite37 for watching movies with me, the random girls of the dorm of the females for happening to be watching Strictly Ballroom, and
halflingmerry for pretty pretty precious.
Lurhman is a master of color use and set design, Jackson owns the wide angle shot and the epic use of sound, Hartley is king of twisted angles and bizarre editing. *loves*
Now I sleep. It's 3 o'clock in the bloody morning.
But, on the other hand, I got about 1/3 of my application essay written, which is a good thing.
